Katy Milani

Director of Advocacy and Policy

As Director of Advocacy and Policy, Katy Milani leads Roosevelt’s external strategic engagement.

As Director of Advocacy and Policy at Roosevelt Forward, Katy Milani leads strategic engagement with allies, partner organizations, and elected officials. In this role, she works to further advance Roosevelt’s economic worldview and research, identifying opportunities for broader impact in the economic debate. Prior to joining the advocacy team, Milani was a fellow and program director for the think tank with an expert focus on the ways in which corporate power—including financialization, corporate governance, financial regulation, and tax policy—impacts workers and wages. She developed a particular concentration on the consequences of corporate power on women and communities of color.

Prior to joining Roosevelt, Milani served in government as a budget analyst for the New York City Office of Management and Budget and a legislative fellow in the Office of Sen. Sherrod Brown, where she focused on banking and housing policy. Milani received her MSc in regulation from the London School of Economics and a BA in international affairs and Spanish from the University of Colorado.
