Brad Lipton

Director, Corporate Power and Financial Regulation

As director of the corporate power and financial regulation program, Brad Lipton leads Roosevelt's work on the rules governing financial institutions and other corporations to produce a more equitable economy.

Brad previously served for more than a decade at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), most recently as senior advisor to the general counsel. In that role, he was involved in nearly all aspects of the CFPB’s management, including strategy, policy, and litigation as well as building partnerships with states across the country. Before Roosevelt, Brad also served as a visiting senior fellow at the Consumer Federation of America, where among other things he testified in several state legislatures about medical debt legislation.

Brad graduated from Yale College and Yale Law School and clerked on the US District Court for the District of Columbia and the US Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit. He lives in Washington, DC.
