Katarina Duplessy

Chief Financial Officer

As the Chief Financial Officer, Katarina Duplessy oversees the financial operations for the Institute, including financial strategy, objectives, policies, and practices, accounting, budget, audit, compliance and tax filings.


As the Chief Financial Officer at Roosevelt Forward, Katarina Duplessy is responsible for the establishment of Roosevelt’s financial strategy, goals, policies, and practices. With the support of the finance team and in collaboration with senior leadership and the board of directors, Duplessy directs the fiscal and fiduciary responsibilities of Roosevelt in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. Duplessy provides the leadership, management, and vision necessary to ensure that Roosevelt has the proper financial controls and reporting procedures and systems in place to effectively manage programs and operations, and to ensure financial strength, efficiency, and sustainability. Duplessy provides senior leadership with guidance and financial review of growth opportunities and new revenue. Duplessy directs the preparation of internal financial statements, audited financial statements, and all tax returns. Duplessy staffs three committees of the board: Audit, Finance & Investment, and Retirement Plan Fiduciaries, and manages the finance team.

Prior to joining Roosevelt, Duplessy was the COO of the Working Families Party and Organization, the COO of the Riverkeeper, and the CFO/Managing Director of Global Business Coalition against HIV, TB and Malaria. Duplessy earned a BA in economics and international relations from CUNY and an MA in public administration and international relations from Syracuse University, and has completed half of the coursework toward an MS in accountancy from Baruch College.
