Gabriel Matthews is a Program Associate and co-Chair of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee at the Roosevelt Institute. While working eight years as a leader in your friendly neighborhood Starbucks coordinating a variety of operational tasks while experiencing the occasional coffee burn, he volunteered at Queers for Economic Justice. While volunteering, Gabriel participated in coalition building and community organizing and began blogging for Black Millennial Musings after freelance writing for various clients. Through these experiences, he has been invited to speak on various community panels centered on child poverty, mental health, and social policy issues with an emphasis on the African American experience.
Gabriel graduated with a BA in political science and philosophy from Brooklyn College.
